What is Microblading?
Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method.
It is considered to be semi permanent, as compared to the traditional hair stroke
technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting colour closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine.
There is no “spilling” under the skin. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows.
The results are natural looking, hair like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other condition that causes hair
loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren't happy with
their eyebrows.
The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow.
Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the
skin will retain the pigment. The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending
on different factors affecting the procedure. However, a touch up once a year is
recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment. Before choosing a technician for your procedure, PLEASE make sure you check out their previous work. Going blindly is never a good idea. Always check out the artist's work.
This is, after all, your face and even semi permanent make up can cause some permanent changes to your skin. In this wonderful, technologicallyadvanced world, we can access just about any information we need. Use it to your advantage and be safe.

Aftercare instructions:
After my Procedure
Hair strokes WILL appear crisp, dark and bold at first but will soften in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will shed, taking some colour with it, this is normal. The area will begin to oxidize and darken over the 1st month. It’s important to start with a slightly darker colour as it will fade after it heals.
Everyone’s skin heals differently and most clients develop patchy areas or the appearance of fading alter the first treatment. It is important to understand that this is a two part process and the second touch up (4-6 week follow up) treatment will complete the procedure and after healing you will see the finished result.
How to care for your brows during your first initial healing period:
-
No Sun Beds
-
No sweating in the gym
-
No Sauna
-
No makeup on the brow area
-
No Anti Aging creams on the brow area
-
Do not pick scabs if any appear
-
Do not itch the brow and or pull any scabs away
-
Leave brow area alone and let them heal totally for 7 days
-
Avoid getting eyebrows wet or soaked in water for 7 days
-
Apply healing balm 4 times daily for 7 days
Some residual swelling is normal for ALL procedures. The area may appear uneven, dry, itchy, tender, red and irritated. This is 100% normal. DO NOT PICK.
These symptoms will dissipate each day and vary on an individual basis. Colour WILL fade/soften anywhere for 40-60%. At your follow up appointment we will fine-tune any area that has faded too much. Healing is specific to each client.

It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every year to maintain it’s fresh natural appearance. Fading will happen after each procedure. We do not have control over your bodies healing process. You may need to powder/pencil even after the healed results. This is an enhancement to your natural brows not a permanent one.
After Care during the 7 day healing period:
You will need to return for your touchup appointment no later than 4-6 weeks after your first initial treatment.
If you bleach your eyebrows, it is recommended not to have this procedure done. The chemicals will bleach the hair and pigment as well.
BOTOX SHOULD BE PERFORMED 3 WEEEKS BEFORE OR 3 WEEKS AFTER THE PROCEDURE.
No chemical peels 60 days prior and must wait till 60 days after(avoiding the brow area is recommended)
IF YOU DO FREQUENT PEELS THE BROWS WILL FADE FASTER.
It is recommended that you stay out of the sun 7days post procedure, please plan accordingly.
Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make you hyper sensitive.
The area may appear uneven, dry, itchy, tender, red and irritated which is all normal.
Semi permanent makeup is an art, NOT a science. Client’s results will vary. No two sides of the face are the same. Perfection is our goal but brows are sisters, not twins.
ABSOLUTLEY NO WATER ON THEM FOR 7 DAYS
Avoid scrubbing the treated area for at least 1 month

Am I a Good Candidate?
People who meet minimum age requirements and have the ability to heal properly from minor wounds can benefit from the liberating benefits of permanent cosmetics.Interest in this service spans the young to the more mature; those who desire a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially valuable to people who can’t wear traditional cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities; active people who want to look their best for sports activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics; and those who don’t want to worry about “sweating off” or reapplying cosmetics.Permanent Cosmetics also benefits the vision challenged who have difficulty applying their cosmetics; and others with dexterity related conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors, and busy people who don’t have time to spend applying and refreshing makeup throughout the day and evening.

-The client has had a previous tattoo on the area, and it is still healivily saturated with colour/has aged to an undesireable colour (which correction or removal will be required first)

Is it painful?
Although we are technically tattooing the skin, this method does not hurt as much as a traditional tattoo.
Generally, people say that it is uncomfortable but tolerable. Prior to the treatment, a layer of anesthetic will be applied to the area to make it as comfortable as possible. During the procedure we use more numbing agents which reduce discomfort to zero or barely noticeable. Women close to or during their menses cycle may be slightly more sensitive, but this is subjective to the individual. Please note: We only use topical numbing agents that have been approved for safe use on the skin.

How long will it last?
After your initial appointment you will be booked in for a touch up that will take place 4-6 weeks after. It is important to have this touch up done because it is impossible to predict how well your skin will retain the pigment. We may need to add additional strokes, some strokes may disappear completely during healing, you may need a colour adjustment; this is all completely normal and will all be addressed during your touch up.
For microblading:
Typically this procedure lasts 1-3 years, with a colour boost every 1-1.5 years.
This of course is subject to change due to your age, skin type and aftercare regimen.
If you have excessively oily skin, skin which produces a lot of sebum or excessively sweat on a daily basis; You may need to come for a full touch up every 6 months, however this is rare.
If you do not properly follow the aftercare regimen or pick and scratch at the area, you will require additional touch ups that will be an extra charge.
As this procedure is considered semi-permanent, it allows us to adjust the shape, height and colour over time; which is perfect for clients who wish to maintain this look over a long period of time and others who simply want a change.
For Micropigmentation:
Eyeliner typically lasts anywhere from 2-5 years, this again is subject to change based on your age and skin texture.
Lip tattooing typically lasts anywhere from 1-3 years depending on the climate you live in and how often your lips shed (peel or flake)
I often recommend that my lip clients use 8 Hour intensive lip repair from Elizabeth Arden. Another favorite recommendation is Argan oil which can be purchased from a health food store. Grapeseed oil and coconut oil is very good for healing as well.

How long will my appointment take?
Generally each procedure takes 2-3 hours, which includes your consultation and application of pre-procedure topical anesthetic (we only use topical anesthetics). At the end of your appointment the aftercare regimen will be explained to you. You may also receive aftercare treatment for the area and a sheet to take with you in case you forget how to care for the area.
